It deserves its 3 stars. The breakfast was SATISFYING and overall our stay was great. Lots of restaurants to eat close by, like The Moon Highgate that was only 10 minutes' walk away.

Reasonable base for exploring Kendal. We stayed 2 nights and greatly enjoyed the superb location. There was English breakfast.
